VOCOM II Mini Dongle WIFI Setting and Firmware Update Guide

VOCOMII dongle, produced by ACTIA in Germany, covers all the functions of the VOCOM2 VOCOMII 88890400, which doesn’t need any cables accessories because it can be connected to the laptop via WIFI perfectly. It is a portable vehicle communication device for its size and weight.

Here we share the steps for wifi setting and firmware update guide

First of all, WIFI Settings

1.Power on the vocom2 dongle and the lights will be flashing. Find the WIFI signal Vocom2D_******* from the laptop. Click connect.

2.Input “v2d+ SN num”, SN number is 7 digits which you can find it from the back of the VOCOM2 dongle. Then click OK. And done.

Second, Firmware update guide:
Pls be sure that the vocom2 dongle be power up by 24V ECU or truck. Low voltage will be affect the firmware update.
1.After the WIFI setting well, go to All Programs and then VOCOMII.

Click the VOCOMII Configurator.

You will see the windows as below. And Click the place as the pictures bellowed.

Then choose “ Advanced” Update Device Firmware

You will see the windows as below. And Click the place as the pictures bellowed. And wait until it is finished.

It will run the TECH TOOL automatically when firmware update finished.

Step1: please connect X300 DP Plus via main cable and also prepare P001 programmer and proximity key.

Besides, please keep Key Master DP Plus in charging and comunication in the whole process.

Here are the tips if failed to read ecu edc17cp45, edc17c06 etc on bench mode with pcmtuner module 71.

PCMTuner comes with spare transistors for GPT circuits, lots of people damage these by connecting wrongly to ECU so these are replacements if it happens.

If you use OBD for power supply, please do not plug in a separate 12V, otherwise, it will cause the device transistor or step-down chip to burn.

MUST USE PCMtuner power supply!
If you use your own lab power and voltage regulator. You don’t know how device power works. Just adjust the voltage to 13.5 or whatever you think will cause the whole triode to burn out.

The solution here helps many users with similar problems. edc17c60, edc17cp45, edc17cp06 all tested working on bench mode.
Resoldered two transistors K1P, and work bench mode. One soldered K1P other analog p1P, I had only one K1P.

replace first this transistor, K1P, analog 1P,p1P

k1p mmbt2222a – 0.6A 40/75V and p1p pmbt2222a – 0.8A 40/75V

If not working after replacing these resistors, check other transistor positions and get it replaced.
