OTOFIX IM2 Adds AUDI A3 2020 MQB RH850 Key Via APB131 Adapter

The APB131 adapter is compatible not only with Autel MaxiIM IM508/IM608 devices but also with OTOFIX IM1/IM2 euquipment. Today, we will share user feedback and demonstrate how to add a key using the OTOFIX IM2 and APB131. The process is similar to that of the IM608.

It is a Audi Q3 F3 2020. The car was deliered with one key, need to add a spare key.Immobilizer data is stored in the dashboard. The task is to add a spare key to this model with OTOFIX IM2 key programmer.
The process of removing the instrument panel was short. you only need to disassemble half the dashboard and soon it was already lying on the table.

Processor

In this case, you need the APB131 adapter(MQB-V850/RH850)
We connect it, supplied additional power to the programmer, and in 7-10 minutes the file was ready

The file needs to be saved, then select”Immo-data” and add the saved file there. After that, you will have the CS and Mac code.

The next step is to prepare the dealer key (2keys)
Then in the menu you need to perform the learning, which is also called”Key adaption” . On the instrument panel at the button, there will be 0/3. Then we apply the keys to the immobilizer coil one by one until there is 3/3.

Xhorse CAS3 Adapter vs Yanhua ACDP CAS3 Adapter

Question:
Is it safe to read CAS3 module using CAS3 solder free adapter ? Xhorse and Yanhua ACDP CAS3 adapter, which is better ?

Here is the clue.

Xhorse CAS3 adapter(XDNP11):
It takes time to align.
The cas3 solderfree adatper can be tricky sometimes and some have hard time reading. You need to make sure you clean the coating off all the contact points really good.

Sometimes you will get chip crack failed error.

If you have an error chip crack failed with xhorse CAS3 adapter, remove clear coat from solder points, and it reads fine. Just scrap it with needle etc. Be careful.

Always use servisol PCB cleaner on boards, leave for 10ins, brush with semi firm brush, then spray again and brush.

YANHUA Mini ACDP CAS3 Adapter:

For CAS many users recommend Yanhua ACDP. Autohex is more complicated than it needs to be. ACDP adapters do pin connection checks which we quite like.

We use the acdp boards. It checks all pins contact before it ever start decryption, so if you get connection issues during flash read then that’s a user thing or workspace error.

We would honestly say ACDP is the best though.

There will be a few times when ACDP will tell your to write back. Do what it says to do . Generally you do not write it back.

In sum:

Reading is ok with these CAS3 solderless adapters. Don’t write back. That where most mistakes happen.

The best method will remain welding.
