(OEM Key) word means Xhorse Key on the key tool plus.
Original Key is customer key that you have.
Have to hold a battery in the Xhorse key while reading or generating. Same with original key.
Update the key BEFORE you generate the dealer key. There are a lot of different key options. Match the frequency and the picture then update.
We removed capacitors and did not replace. Keys works as before.
Bring replacement key shells. You will likely destroy the original key shell when opening. Plus it is a nice touch to have a brand new case on the customer key. I practiced on used remotes. Opening and reading key date before working on customer keys.
Xhorse new tablet VVDI Key Tool MIDI is coming soon. What’s the difference between vvdi key tool plus and key tool midi ? Does key tool midi do all the functions of key tool plus ? Same add keys and akl car list ? Free life updates ?

Question: Is it safe to read CAS3 module using CAS3 solder free adapter ? Xhorse and Yanhua ACDP CAS3 adapter, which is better ?
Here is the clue.
Xhorse CAS3 adapter(XDNP11): It takes time to align. The cas3 solderfree adatper can be tricky sometimes and some have hard time reading. You need to make sure you clean the coating off all the contact points really good.
Sometimes you will get chip crack failed error.
If you have an error chip crack failed with xhorse CAS3 adapter, remove clear coat from solder points, and it reads fine. Just scrap it with needle etc. Be careful.
Always use servisol PCB cleaner on boards, leave for 10ins, brush with semi firm brush, then spray again and brush.
For CAS many users recommend Yanhua ACDP. Autohex is more complicated than it needs to be. ACDP adapters do pin connection checks which we quite like.
We use the acdp boards. It checks all pins contact before it ever start decryption, so if you get connection issues during flash read then that’s a user thing or workspace error.
We would honestly say ACDP is the best though.
There will be a few times when ACDP will tell your to write back. Do what it says to do . Generally you do not write it back.
In sum:
Reading is ok with these CAS3 solderless adapters. Don’t write back. That where most mistakes happen.

Correct Connection Method for MLB Main Unit and MQB48 Key Collector: Diagrams:
Important Notes:
The MQB48 adapter has strict power supply requirements during data collection. Use two separate USB cables to power the MLB main unit and the MQB48 collector. Do not use charging adapters. The MLB main unit does not require 12V power.
Data Collection Time: Good power supply: ~15 minutes for data collection, ~1 minute for immobilizer data calculation. Average power supply: ~30–60 minutes for data collection, ~1 minute for calculation. Connecting to a PC:
Use two USB cables.
Connecting to a Tablet:
Label 1: Use a Type-C splitter cable. Label 2: Tablet power quality is insufficient. For better results, connect the OBD to the vehicle or supply external power to the OBD to maintain tablet battery. Note: Tablets with a single Type-C port have poor power stability, leading to longer collection times and lower success rates. Strongly recommend using a PC. After Successful Data Collection: The MQB48 IMMO data will be generated. Load this data into the MQB35XX option to create and program keys.
