BMW Airbag Reset DIY Experience with BMW B800

I came here to share my DIY experience and recommend a little thing: BMW B800 airbag reset tool. It was incredible working like a charm for my 2000 BMW E39 523I and my wife’s 1998 328I. I was satisfied with this tool and hope my words help.

I bought this BMW B800 airbag light reset tool online from China guy one year ago. It was because I wanted to reset 1998 328I airbag warning light then and I thought it a good choice since we have two old Bimmers and this tool was cheap. It worked, this tool successfully done in 2 minutes. Recently my 2000 BMW E39 523I got the same problem. So I used BMW B800 again and the airbag light off soon.

Now I will show you how I used this BMW B800 to reset airbag light：

First, I connected this tool with car and pressed the “Enter” button and it showed me “03”.

Next, I pressed “Stroll” button then “Enter” button. The airbag light started blink then it was off.

Xhorse VVDI2 or BMW multi tool, which better read CAS2 by OBD?

To answer this question, yes both Xhorse VVDI2 and BMW multi tool are tested ok to read CAS2 by OBD2.

While a little part of users feedback they use Xhorse VVDI2 to read CAS2 via OBD2 but failed. Let’s firstly read one user’s feedback “Vvdi2 constantly causes me problems on cars with Cas2.

Every time I attempt to add a key via obd I get disable security error and the dme-cas fall out of sync. I then have spend 20 mins messing around with fvdi to re synchronise it.After all that, I still need to remove the cas and use the adapter to make a key. I do not even bother trying via obd anymore. Multitool never gave me these problems.

Read from the error photo, you used V1.1.1, currently BMW latest version is V1.1.7, please download the latest version, it already fix the bugs.

How BMW multi tool make key for BMW EWS

If you think BMW multi tool can only make key for BMW CAS immobilizer system, you are out of date. BMW multi tool can also make key for BMW EWS. Then how to do? The answer is to spend about 90USD to buy one additional CAS Plug for BMW Multi Tool, it is easy to use, no need to remove any part, but just connect it to the OBDII port of BMW multi tool, then it can make key for EWS, EWS 2, 7 Series CAS1/CAS2 plug and CAS3/CAS3+ plug; besides, by using CAS Plug, you can connect CAN LINE manually, support 12V.
