What is Scania SDP3:
Scania SDP3 is the latest diagnostic software for Scania diagnostic tool VCI 2 and VCI 3. SDP3 (Scania Diagnos & Programmer) software is an OEM software designed to maintain Scania trucks, other heavy vehicles and marine or industry engines over VCI diagnostic interface.
Scania vehicle communication interface VCI 3, a “cable” between the PC and the vehicle, is designed for fault code reading, assisted trouble shooting, parameter settings, etc. for Scania trucks, bus chassis and Scania engines. SDP3 shall be installed on a PC/Windows platform, and connect to the vehicle through a Scania VCI interface. After registration you can login to download the software and read more about SDP3 from the Downloads menu. When the application has been installed it must be activated with a license key the first time before usage.

By using the search box at the top of the window you can now search directly in the function view. You can choose to search in the Adjustment, Check or Calibration tab.
Troubleshooting
The procedure for defect reporting in SDP3 has been improved to make it simpler to follow.
Instead of a guide in several steps, there is now a simple dialogue box. In the dialogue box you can select if you want to save the defect report locally or if you want to send it via e-mail. To be able to send the defect report via e-mail you must have Microsoft Outlook. You can choose to create a defect report for a specific individual product or to make a general defect report.

It could read ODBII codes. It came with TIS software and drivers. I installed it and it *works* exactly the same as my much more expensive mongoose. It has a full version of TIS, no license required. I reprogrammed a couple of options – works great.
This is $23 folks! Less than the cost of what some of you are paying to enter your TPMS codes for winter/summer tires at the dealership. Shipping took a couple of weeks.

Clip will tell you if there is a new version to install, depending on what version of Renault reprog you have… if you do not have reprog, the only way to find out if there is a new version, is to with a diagnostics machine read the actual version installed. As for the benefits, new versions are usually released to resolve glitches that have been in the mean time discovered, to improve drivability, fuel consumption etc… also as the engines get worn and old, new software can adjust things to make is drivability a bit better… most of the times you will not see any difference after a software update, unless a real obviously glitch has been identified and a new version has been released to resolve it. I hope all the above makes some sense, and somehow answers your question…
■Renault can clip key programming & ECU programming (No luck with can clip V170)
The Renault-COM diagnostic programming tool is verified ok to perform key programming and ECU programming.
Let’s start with my car models and issues: I have Jaguar XK / XKR ( X150 ), my passenger seat will back will not sit up correctly. It appears to only travel about 1/3 of the driver, leaving the seat and passenger leaning back very far.
I loath having to go there and have not found any indy in my area that has the diagnostic tools.
Then is solution:
If you have a spare laptop, you can get set up yourself for as little as $50.
I have had my Mangoose SDD (Chinese clone of a Mongoose) for 5 or 6 years and have been able to do most things dealers do, including updating firmware in various modules.
As you can see from the attached screen shot the seat calibration routines are in one of the menus done through SDD.
As you can see from the above I mentioned, the cable should come with a copy of SDD (Jaguar supplied diagnostic software). You may or may not be able to read the CD the software comes on and it may or may not work fully! SDD V131 seems to be the sweet spot for functionality and least issues and there may be a link to a copy in that thread somewhere.
You can buy the cable plus a complete image of a virtual PC from a few suppliers which means you don’t have the hassle of installing the diagnostic software yourself. I have not had many problems myself but some people have wasted days trying to get theirs working . Once you have it working though it is an invaluable tool and will pay for itself over and over again.
If you use it to update firmware you must make sure you have a decent (at least) 25 amp power supply connected to the battery otherwise you run the risk of bricking modules

Mention mb sdconnect c4, it seems that there’s a lot of different manufacturers and quality levels of multiplexer clones. Here’s the one I went with, however I didn’t bother with the HDD/software they included or a dell D630 laptop. I have a background in computers, so I set myself up a vmware virtual machine and installed all the software with the (occasionally somewhat difficult to follow) information on mhhauto. I have heard of people having problems using VMware, but I didn’t experience any myself.
As for the hardware itself, mine is of decent quality. I have no real complaints with it other than it losing it’s WiFi configuration once drained of battery (which happens quickly, but it’s not really an issue since it draws power from OBD when connected), but I prefer using a cable connection anyway.
P.S I will warn you that if you’re not very familiar with computers/configuring software/some basic computer networking (IP address assignments, etc), you might have a hard time getting everything to work. Definitely look into the details of getting everything set up before buying. I wish there were a complete and total guide to setting up everything (go to last part for details). Getting everything working properly took quite a lot of reading and searching, and a couple of days of tinkering. Patience is a plus.. if I had to compare this to something else in terms of difficulty (computer-wise), I’d say it’s similar to setting up a microsoft exchange server without errors.

I recently installed ISTA+, INPA / EDIABAS and NCS and follow instructions from available resources online for establishing a connection with my 2008 E60 M5, but was met with the message:
The vehicle could not be identified. Please check the access to the vehicle and check whether testing-analysis-diagnosis has been activated
I’m fairly certain I followed the installation instructions properly, so my inclination is to believe that my problem could possibly be the cable. I honestly don’t remember where I got the cable. I got it probably 4-5 years ago and never got around to installing ISTA or DIS.
Would anyone be able to tell by looking at the cable? I’ve attached a picture of the cable that I have.

I had successfully reinstalled everything again and that I had tried establishing a connection with the vehicle and that it had failed (which it did). However, I thought of something and decided to try it before posting that message. When I installed this time around, I noticed that there areTWO ediabas.ini files; one of them is in the EDIABAS directory under the system drive (C:\EDIABAS\Bin\ediabas.ini), along with the obd.ini, and the other is in the Rheingold directory (e.g C:\Rheingold\Ediabas\BIN\EDIABAS.ini, or wherever you unpacked Rheingold.7z).
I opened up the EDIABAS.INI in the Rheingold directory and changed the Interface = Remote toInterface = STD:OBD and then tried establishing a connection and it worked this time.
Unfortunately, the BEGINNERS GUIDE TO ISTA+ PDF only mentions the ediabas.ini file under the C:\EDIABAS directory:
So, for anyone who maybe hasn’t been able to establish a connection to their vehicle with ISTA and has exhausted all of their options, this may be a good place to start.
